Monday 13th February sees the premiere on UK television of the hit new US TV show Grimm. Inspired by the tales of The Brothers Grimm, it follows the life of a cop called Nick Burkhardt who, after moving to Portland, Orgeon starts to have visions that turn the people he sees into animals and monsters.

Worrying for his sanity, he visits a relative in hospital who reveals to him that he has The Grimm, the power to see these terribe creatures in their true form. It is now down to Nick and his partner Lt. Hank Griffin to save the day.

Our Top Ten Buy it Now for Christmas DVD List

If you are thinking about last minute gifts for Christmas then you can do far worse than consider our top ten DVDs to buy now for Christmas list.

Number 1 – Fringe, Season 3. Ok, so you probably have to be a Fringe fan to immediately understand what the hell’s going on, but season 3 is where Fringe starts to get real interesting. Buy it from Amazon

Number 2 – Captain America: The First Avenger. Starring Chris Evans and a surprisingly good addition to the Marvel hero movie collection – this one’s nearly as good as the first Iron Man movie. Buy it from Amazon

Number 3 – Farscape: Seasons One to Four. We’re going back a few years with this one, but Farscape was so good there is no reason why people shouldn’t be introduced to it. Buy it from Amazon

Number 4 – Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale. A weird choice I know from Finland where scientists unleash an Evil Santa. Check it out, it’s a Christmas Sci-fi gem. Buy it from Amazon

Number 5 – Thor. Another addition to the Marvel superhero movie collection and another movie that’s better than we thought it was going to be. Why not collect all the Marvel superhero movies and watch them in readiness for The Avengers movie when it comes out in 2012. Buy it from Amazon

Number 6 – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2. A stunning farewell to the biggest movie franchise in history. Buy it from Amazon

Number 7 – The Sarah Jane Adventures, Season 4. Sarah meets Matt Smith’s Doctor. A must have addition to the collection of any Doctor Who fan. Buy it from Amazon

Number 8 – Supernatural, Season 6, If you like your fantasy and horror along with good looking American boys battling it out with evil then look no further. Supernatural can do no wrong. Buy it from Amazon

Number 10 – Rideback. Are you buying for an Anime fan? Fantastic, then this will be right up their street. A 12 part story in the vein of Black Swan meets Night Hawk. Unmissable. Buy it from Amazon

Fringe Season 5?

A fifth season of Fringe is by no means guaranteed as rather less than impressive audience numbers has the producers starting to feel a little nervous. When asked about the possibility of a fifth season, Warner TV president Peter Roth said, “it’s too soon to tell”. We look forward to hearing about their decision
