Chuck Bartowski is a 20 something loser. He is a guy that some people will be familiar with. He has little motivation in his life and aspires to be nothing better than the manager of the chain store where he works. Contemplating his life he broods on the fact that he was kicked out of college and lost his girlfriend to his more desirable roommate.

However his life becomes infinitely more complicated when that same girl stealing roommate sends him an email which proceeds to dump the complete US State Secrets database directly into his brain. This in turn thrusts him into a World of excitement and espionage as he is forced to work with people like the CIA and NSA in attempts to thwart the dastardly doings of the nation's enemies.
