Season Two, Episode One - Past as Prologue
Shalimar goes off on her own to take down Gabriel Ashlocke, with Brennan providing backup. They find out that Ashlocke has stolen an urn containing the remains of an ancient Egyptian goddess/priestess whom he hopes to revive to provide a cure to the fatal destabilization of his body by his mutant genes. Ashlocke reconstitutes the body and gets one of two crystals he needs, but Mutant X gets the other one hidden at a pyramid in Egypt. Realizing that a dying Ashlocke with nothing to lose would be totally ruthless, Adam resolves to cure him and the team break into his sanctuary. Gabriel is understandably skeptical and has managed to revive the priestess, Avaris, by sacrificing one of his mutant female groupies. An early form of mutant, her vast powers make her unstoppable but Adam deciphers the crystals and uses them to reverse her power and destroy her. The team escapes, not sure if Gabriel is dead or not
