Roswell, New Mexico. While working in her father's Crashdown Cafe, Liz Parker is shot as she is caught in the crossfire between two arguing customers. Max Evans, a schoolmate of Liz's at Roswell High School heals her wound with only the touch of his hand and saves her life.

After Max's deed Liz finds out that he, his sister Isabel and their friend Michael Guerin are in fact descendants of the aliens who crashed their space ship in the New Mexico desert.

The problem is that now they have been exposed, and the FBI are closing in.....
